What does it mean to explore AI?
In GROW, you planted your first seeds by trying out simple AI tools. Now it’s time to wander further into the unknown. Exploring means experimenting with AI: testing out custom tools, automations, and even dipping your toes into coding.
I already use AI, why should I learn more?

Your AI Exploration Starter Kit
ChatGPT
You can use Chat to create your own Custom GPTs designed for specific needs (like a workout planner, astudy buddy, or abrand voice assistant). With the built-in “data analysis” feature (Code Interpreter), you can upload spreadsheets, notes, or images to get summaries, charts, and insights in minutes.
Zapier
This no-code automation tool connects to thousands of apps (Google Docs, Slack, Notion, Gmail, etc.) so you don’t have to do repetitive work. Example: Zapier can automatically take meeting notes from ChatGPT and send them to a shared Google Drive folder.
Python Learning
When you travel anywhere new, it helps to know a little bit of the language. Python is the language of (most) AI. It's also beginner-friendly and AI can help you learn it faster. A fun and free place to start: Kaggle Learn Learn Python | Kaggle offers short, interactive lessons you can try in your browser. I also recommend Codeacademy (Freemium) Learn to Code
Google Colab
This is a free, cloud-based collaborative notebook where you can write and run Python code right in your browser. No installation needed, just open a new Colab notebook, type in a line of code, and hit play.
✈️EXPLORE CHALLENGES
- Build a Custom GPT → Create a custom chatbot in ChatGPT that solves a personal or work challenge.
- Build an Automation → Connect Zapier to ChatGPT to automate a task (e.g., send summaries of your emails to a Notion page).
- Analyze Data → Feed a spreadsheet or notes into ChatGPT to quickly analyze patterns and generate a summary.
- Dabble with Python → Open a Google Colab notebook and write a single line of code to do something simple but useful (e.g., “make a list of numbers 1–10”).
